IX Eurasian Antimonopoly Forum was held in Almaty

On April 20-21, Almaty hosted the IX Eurasian Antimonopoly Forum - the main annual event in the field of competition and antimonopoly regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union and in the countries of Central Asia.

The forum is supported by the Eurasian Economic Commission.

From 2014 to 2022, the main organizer of the Forum was Center for Protection of Competition JSC. Since this year, the main organizer of the Forum has been the Eurasian Alliance of Antimonopoly Experts.

The Forum was attended and delivered by the Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Marat Omarov, heads of departments of the antimonopoly block of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Judges of the Supreme Court of the EAEU, the representative of the World Bank for Central Asia, the leadership of the antimonopoly authorities of the countries of the Eurasian region.

Key questions of the Forum:

· Actual problems of development of competition in the countries of the Eurasian region. The role of state participation in the economy

· Practical measures to prevent and reduce antimonopoly risks

· Pricing of dominant companies in the modern world

· The impact of antimonopoly regulation on the country's investment climate

Within the framework of the Forum, a separate discussion was held on the protection of competition in the cross-border market of accounting and auditing services of the EAEU, as well as development and protection in the markets of the agricultural sector, organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission and the professional community of accountants and auditors.

A special session was held with the participation of judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the problems of proof in antimonopoly disputes and the use of expert knowledge.

The 10th Anniversary Eurasian Antimonopoly Forum will bring together its participants in February 2024 in Almaty.
